Sudarshan K Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma immigrated from India in 1976 and came to Chicago, doing an internship at Resurrection Hospital.  He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology then his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.  He has been on staff at Hinsdale Hospital (now called AMITA Health Adventist Hinsdale Hospital) since 1988 and has lived in Hinsdale with his wife and two children for the past 25 years.

Nurse Practitioner

Peg Gregus, RN, MS, AOCNS

Peg is an advanced practice nurse with over 30 years’ experience in nursing. She has a Master’s degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing with an emphasis in Oncology and is certified as an Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has worked with Dr. Sharma for most of these 30 years, making it a seamless flow between working professionals. The main focus of her position is to oversee the patients receiving chemotherapy. She provides education and support to the patients having surgery and helps to prepare them preoperatively and postoperatively.

 Peg serves as the Clinical Trial Coordinator for the research studies and is responsible for ensuring patients are eligible for studies, overseeing all of the details involved including managing side effects and dose adjustments. She is the point of contact in educating patients and staff about drugs involved with these studies and also assists with insurance issues related to chemotherapy.
